• Think of “Resources” as your homeschool bookshelf, media shelf, and Internet bookmark file.
• In order to create assignments based on a specific textbook or other resource, you may first enter the resource information here, or while creating lesson plans from Learning > Lesson Plans > Resource.
• If you are starting with a pile of resources that you know you will be using, it will be quicker to enter them here.
To enter a book manually: First select “Books” from the Resources category list, then click the small triangle in the top right corner of the Books box. Select “Add,” then double click inside the “Title” box to enter the title of the book. Once you are done, press <tab> or <return> and the book will be added to the sidebar list. Books are arranged alphabetically by title, not author.
To enter a book with assistance: Click on the small triangle and select “Search for New.” A dialogue box with a search bar will appear. If you are connected to the Internet, type in the name of a book or author you wish to add, and your search will be sent to Google Books. If found, Google Books will return a list of possible matches, and you can select the one you want. Click the “Add” button and all of the relevant information will automatically be added to the Resource page. If you do not see the book you are looking for within the Google Book results, you will have to enter the information manually.
To add software titles, websites, movies, or other resources: First select the type from the Resources category list, then click on the small triangle and select “Add.” Double click in the name or title field to type in the title. Once you hit <tab> or <return> the name will appear in the resource list.
To remove software titles, websites, movies, or other resources: First select the specific resource title you wish to remove, then click the triangle and select “Remove.”
To edit any resource information, just select the resource title, and double click within any field to edit.
